I just picked up Music Maker Premium (2017?). I'm running Windows 10. I found some interesting virtual instruments from Alan Vista ( and I downloaded them. After looking around at the Magix blog and this forum, I put them in a directory and pointed Music Maker at said directory in the settings (and using the 'add new instrument' dialog, too.) The instrument window refreshes, but my new instruments don't show up. I have a couple questions: 1.) Are there limitations on where I can put them?

I chose an existing Music Maker directory that seemed to also contain the included Magix instruments. (C: Users Public Documents MAGIX Common MxSynth) 2.) The download from Alan Vista unzipped into a format I'm unfamiliar with (I'm brand new to music software). I'm wondering if I need to arrange it differently. For examble: BellsEbuth unzipped into.
BellsEbuthx64 (folder). BellsEbuth.dll. BellsEbuth.instrument (folder). BellsEbuth.mse I've both left the BellsEbuth folder as it is in the MxSynth directory, and extracted the BellsEbuth.dll so it's in the MxSynth directory.
None of this seems to make the new instruments appear. Any advice is appreciated. This suggests you downloaded the 64 bit version of the VST - you need the 32 bit version - Music Maker is 32 bit and will not recognise 64 bit VST's. My VST dll's and the MSE (or SEM) folders are arranged as shown below I created a VST folder in C: ProgramData MAGIX Common and then placed third party VST's in this and added the filepath to Music Maker, this way they are easily backed up and kept separate from the MMM synths and VST's Note the VST's I have require the sub folder to be the same name as the DLL, you may have to use the original foldername, if this does not work change the folder name as stated in the image above.
Hi, I have read a lot of questions on this. So I know and have tried: - Running MM 17 Premium as adminitrator. Not in easy mode - I have reset the VST folders, then used 'Add.' Under Synthesizer to add the folder of the new VST plugin - The plugin does not appear.
I have tried with a number of different plugins. I cannot import any VST plugin into Music Maker. I have closed and opened the programme, the VST plugins do not appear. I have tried adding the path through preferences 'Add VST Plug-in Path', the VST plugins do not appear.
Can anyone help? System: Windows 7, 32-bit, Music Maker 17 Premium.
You have already tried a lot and good you have mentioned in your quesion. But one thing which is not clear you said ' I have reset the VST folders, then used 'Add.' Under Synthesizer to add the folder of the new VST plugin' Do you mean you wan to add VST Plugins of Music Maker or you have downloaded from other sources and want to add? I use MMM 16 Premium and if I want to add third party VST Plugin I just copy that inside Music Maker Synth folder and that works. But some plugins could not work in Music Maker. OR if you are trying to use Music Maker VST Plugins in that case they should be added during installation of Music Maker or if you got download version then, have to be installed with extra contents packs but not manually. Or try this method: Make a new Synth folder some where on computer such as insside MY Music and give any name such as My Synth then copy the contents inside.
Open Music Maker use Add VST button this should work. You have already tried a lot and good you have mentioned in your quesion. The second, I have 3rd party VSTs and I cannot get these to appear. I have heard that some VSTs will not work, but I have tried 3, and none work: Native Intruments Reaktor; WIDI VST; and Ambience VST. Also on Windows 7 they might behave differently. Windows 7 professional 64 bit full version. I remember some user had also asked similar questions here you better search those.

Question: whenever you tried to add vst plugins of third party did you also clear your browser history and cookies? If not please do that from Tools/Internet options (depends on your browser) then try. Also for adding third party vst plugin when you access them via Add vst plugin put cursor on file with extension DL L at the end just click once then press ok. I hope you already knew it.
